Greetings Fellow Hikers,
It has been a long time since I wrote on this blog. We have been busy and without WIFI. We are getting prepared to start our next half of our mission walk across America. We are very excited and yet a little nervous, too. We have the hardest stretch of our walk so far ahead of us. I am a little nervous because of the steep mountains and the desserts. I know God will see us through it, if we can only continue to put all of our trust in Him. I suffered from High Altitude sickness back this fall at 8700' and now we are going to hike up to 13500'. I continue to try to stay encouraged and lean on God's word and I know, I will be quoting scriptures the whole way.
I pray all of you ladies out there are getting geared up for Spring and ready to embark on new trails , yet to be explored. I know Katlyn and I are excited now that it is warming up. We can not wait to see what God has created in the west. We have never been this far across America and we are excited to be able to explore what beauty He has created. We have awed at the pictures in magazines of Arches National Park and Moab and The High Sierras and much more, but now we will be out in the wilderness and up close in pure amazement.
We encourage all of you to get outside and see what beauty is around us each day and never take it for granted. No one has ever painted a flower or a sunset like God. Hiking has been proven to increase mental clarity and focus and is proven as a great stress reliever, so why not get outside and improve your health. It is a wonderful feeling to smell the fir trees, to feel the breeze blowing in your hair, to feel the ocean spray on your feet, or for myself to climb to the peak of a mountain that you never thought you could ever conquer, but with God at your side you did it. What inspiration, what accomplishment is next in your walk or in ours? Ours is to walk from the ocean in California to Denver, to complete our 5000 mile trek across America, all as a walk in Love!
Please, pray for us and encourage us through emails or text messages or call us, we would love to hear from you. We are walking as much for you all, as we are for others. Please call up someone to day and get outside and go explore what God has created and you will be amazed at what He has created and what you can accomplish. We LOVE you ALL! Happy Hiking!
Love,
Jennifer....GentleFir

Get Outdoors and Explore God's Creation Ladies
Greetings Fellow Friends, Family, and Fellow Hikers,
I would like to say Welcome to Our new blog, written by women for women. We would like to encourage you to get outside and enjoy the benefit of God's Creation. It has been proven to reduce stress, to make you smarter, to make you happier, and of course healthier. What better time than the New Year to take up walking, hiking, mountain climbing, biking, archery, snow boarding or any activity outside. If you do not know where to begin and do not like to go alone, look into outdoor clubs in your areas. We are on winter break from our walk in love across America currently, but we are still staying active. KatyDid has been learning how to be a better at archery and has been certified as a life guard as well. We hope to have time to create a women's outdoor retreat soon to encourage others to get outside and to try something new and adventurous.
I pray you will research our backpacking believers blog if you are not already a friend and see what you can accomplish. across America we neve when you put your mind to it. When we started our walk across Americakr thought we could walk 18 miles a day, then 20, then 25, then even 31 miles. God is amazing! You can do anything you want to do if you just try and keep trying and put God first. We looked for blogs by women who hike, bike and do most anything outside and there were not many and surely non were found wearing long skirts. We have overcome many obstacles and even in a long skirt. We have hiked mountains and crossed creeks, rock climbed and much more, all as a lady in a skirt. SO, if we can do all of this then so can you We would like people to ask us questions on gear and food and supplies etc.. This is part of why we created this blog.
I hope you will get outside and smell the fir trees or go sledding or snow skiing and enjoy the great outdoors. I know you will feel better and have less stress and eat less chocolate. I miss the trail every day and even our tent, it was just easier and a more simple way of life. For now though we are here a a christian camp being used of God for the time being. To everything there is a season and a purpose under Heaven. The Mountains are calling though!! Maybe one of you will go out and explore them. May the Lord lead you down paths of life and health and a fresh renewed spirit.
Happy Hiking and Happy Outdoors Exploring,
In Christ,
